  1. Maintain memberships/donations to environmental advocacy groups and undertake their requests for advocacy for protection and improvements for land, water, biodiversity of plants, animals and soil microbiome, and action regarding climate change.
  2. Talk about our new cold climate heat pump to our contacts whenever appropriate and encourage others to get one too, including reminders of grants available provincially and federally.
  3. Continue to be a role model for my neighbourhood with an attractive native species habitat in our urban yard (front and back) the promotes local biodiversity. Use signage for education about this practice. Gather and share seeds from my garden of native species plants. Encourage and help others to begin to rewild their properties.
  4. Partner with local organic nursery with promoting rewilding of our properties.
  5. Advocate with local politicians for initiatives around carbon reduction/sequestration, active transportation infrastructure and maintenance, protecting the use of front lawn/boulevard areas for native species/gardens rather than lawns, eliminating spraying for adult mosquitos and transitioning public mowed areas to native species preserves (such as hydro and road right of ways).
  6. Connect with/volunteer with local environmental agencies such as Winnipeg Wildflower project to promote cooperation and contribute to stronger voices in advocacy work and contribute to their missions. Promote urban wildlife corridors, particularly for pollinators such as the Monarch butterfly.
  7. Continue to learn more about traditional Indigenous land management practices and ally whenever possible about advocacy for ensuring Indigenous peoples are included in environmental solutions where their traditional territories are involved.
  8. Continue to use my email signature to promote various environmental causes to promote traffic to their website. Next one is Regeneration.org!
  9. Continue eating a high plant diet and be watchful of “creep” of too much meat returning to the diet. Buy only meat from farmers using regenerative agriculture practices.
  10. Use bike as default mode of transportation for nearby errands during non-winter season.
  11. Continue to research and implement practices for my yard that is more regenerative than just organic in principle.
  12. Continue to apply pressure to all levels of government to complete Winnipeg water pollution plant to reduce phosphorous loads and algae blooms on Lake Winnipeg.

A punch list can be for an individual, family, community, company, or city.  It is the list of the actions you or a group will undertake and accomplish over a predetermined span of time—one month, one year, five years, or more. You can make different lists for different time periods—this week and this year for example.
