  1. Limit my shopping and consumption of new clothing items. Every other month I will go through my closet and donate the clothes that I no longer wear, so that the textiles do not go to waste. If I do consume, I want to continue to purchase from brands that have commitments to sustainability and worker safety. Also, learn to sew and mend to extend the lifecycle of my existing wardrobe.
  2. Limit my use of plastic water bottles by purchasing a reusable water bottle that is small and I will actually carry around. Ensure my water comes with me every time I leave the house by adding to essentials list (phone, key, wallet, water bottle)
  3. Long term- ensure that whatever company I work for or whatever position I work in is creating a positive impact for the climate crisis. Ensure that my position is actively making an impact on the improving the climate crisis.
  4. Continue eating a mostly plant-based diet. I think it's important to have a balanced diet and not completely restrict certain foods, but being conscious about what I consume and where it comes from. However, I do plan on remaining at least vegetarian in the long-term.
  5. Using public transportation more often. Restricting uber rides to scenarios where it is needed, and instead relying on walking, the subway or bike rides on a daily basis. Also helps with personal health.
  6. When possible, switch to renewable energy provider, and always ask to see if this is possible.
  7. Support climate causes as much as possible, whether financially or through volunteering. Create a list of different organizations in NYC that I might be able to help out with, and contribute often (goal: 4 times a year).

A punch list can be for an individual, family, community, company, or city.  It is the list of the actions you or a group will undertake and accomplish over a predetermined span of time—one month, one year, five years, or more. You can make different lists for different time periods—this week and this year for example.
