Emily Jensen is a writer and communications strategist with roots in the nonprofit, creative agency, and journalistic worlds. These days she’s on a mission to bring the best of these worlds together through her freelance practice, collaborating with forward-thinking clients across sectors to make a positive impact. Recent projects include strategic messaging for a community wealth-building program designed to close the racial wealth gap; developing a citizen-friendly policy brief centered around natural climate solutions; and writing an athlete’s guide to gear repair and care. Emily holds a BA in Critical Theory & Social Justice from Occidental College and a Master’s in Multimedia Journalism from University of Oregon, where her reporting on gentrification in North Portland received distinction for outstanding journalism. When she’s not writing, catch Emily retrofitting her 1944 Portland home for a regenerative future, cross-country skiing at Mt. Hood, and singing 90’s alt rock karaoke at the top of her lungs.
